Daniels, Lady Eagles fly past Cards, 13-1
INEZ — Johnson Central's Brianne Daniels foiled the Sheldon Clark Lady Cards home opener Tuesday at Frank Horn Field in Inez as she led the Lady Eagles on the mound and with the bat to a 13-1 win in five innings.

Daniels was almost impossible to hit from the hill as she allowed the Lady Cards only one run on four hits, fanned eight and walked only one. While waving the lumber, she also led the Lady Eagles' hitting attack as she cracked a double and a single in three trips and scored three runs in the five-inning affair.

The Lady Eagles placed runs on the score board in every inning but the last as three runs in the first combined with six in the second and two additional runs in the third and fourth innings gave the Lady Eagles the 12-run win.

Along with Daniels' performance, Lori Carty also lined two singles while Maggie Callis, Nellie Barton and Ashley Meek added a single each.

The Lady Cards' one run came on four hits. Kim Calloway led Sheldon Clark with two singles while Tiffany Meade and Brittany Horn managed a safety each.
