Lady Rebs rally past Letcher for 2nd straight win
WHITESBURG — After blowing a big early lead, Allen Central rallied late to defeat Letcher County 12-10 in high school softball action Wednesday night.

The Lady Rebs, who owned a seven-run advantage after the initial frame, scored three times in the top of the seventh to pull out the two-run victory.

Tiffany Turner, who finished the day with four hits, ignited the final rally with a one-out double.

Following a walk to Terrie Mullins, Amber Scott reached on an error to load the bases and Kristie Howard walked to force home Turner with the tying run.

Jessica Isaac then banged out a base hit to score Mullins with the eventual game winning run and Scott with some insurance.

Mullins and Isaac finished with two hits apiece and Turner pitched all seven innings as Allen Central won for the second straight time this season.

Turner tossed a no-hitter Tuesday night to lead the Lady Rebs in a 24-2 three inning win over Pike County Central.

Jackie Martin and Megan Harris collected three hits each to lead Allen Central, which finished with 14 hits.

Kristie Howard and Jenny Spurlock added two hits apiece to the Lady Reb offensive effort while Turner, Mullins, Scott, Harris, and Martin all crossed the plate three times.

Turner walked two, hit two more, and struck out five in her three innings of work to claim the victory.
