Area teams hit road for spring break
PAINTSVILLE — Baseball season is now in full swing around the bluegrass, and several area teams have hit the road in search of some early competition during their spring breaks.

Lawrence County coach Randy Keaton and the Dawgs have gone north this season to New York to compete in a tournament with some of the top teams up and down the east coast.

Johnson Central coach Mike Collins and Paintsville skipper Charlie Adkins headed for warmer weather as they took their teams south to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to participate in the Hawaiian Tropic Classic.

Sheldon Clark coach Mike Hall and Betsy Layne coach Duran Newsome will stay in the state and take their teams to Morehead to play in the Foothills Tournament at Rowan County High School.
