Martin County Skills USA-VICA take state honors
INEZ Six members of the Martin County Skills USA-VICA club competed in state competition held at the Hyatt Regency, Lexington, KY, March 26-29, 2003. Two members returned to Martin County with third place medals awarded to them during this time. Winning third place in Electronic Technology was senior, Michael Allen. Taking third place honors in Job Interview was junior, Kristie Bowen. Other members competing and their respective competitions were as follows: Lora Horn- Extemporaneous Speaking; Nicole Nichols-Prepared Speaking; Joey Ross-Industrial Motor Controls; Jonathan Kouns-Job Skill Demonstration A.

Friday night participating members attended a banquet with Miss Kentucky as the keynote speaker. Advisors for Martin County Skills USA-VICA are Michael Jude, Carpentry; Dwayne Pack, Auto Mechanics; Danny Vance, Electricity/Electronics; and Martha Williams, Health Sciences.
