Pamida Foundation/Louisa Pamida award $500 grant to God’s Food Bank

LOUISA — The Louisa Pamida and the Pamida Foundation announce the awarding of $500 to God’s Food Bank.

Funds for the grant were made possible by Pamida’s Charitable Golf Outing held in June 2002, which raised $685,950 to be used toward fulfilling the foundation’s goal of making a difference in Pamida hometowns and communities.

The grant to God’s Food Bank will be used to support the needs of the community. The presentation of the check was held Friday, April 11, at the Louisa Pamida store.

“Pamida is committed to taking an active part in the continued growth and well being of the Louisa community,” said Jeff Higgins, store team leader of the Louisa Pamida. ‘“We are proud to join with God’s Food Bank in this important project.”

Pamida is a subsidiary of ShopKo Stores, Inc., a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Green Bay, Wis., operating 364 retail stores in 23 states, primarily in the Midwest, Western Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions. Pamida operations, headquartered in Omaha, Neb., include 223 discount stores located in smaller, rural communities.
