Sheldon Clark JKG group wins 12 state titles, seven named nationally
INEZ – Sheldon Clark High's Jobs for Kentucky's Graduates exploded on the scene at the 2003 JKG State Career Development Competition in Lexington, Kentucky, with a platform for success, and came home the 2003 Kentucky State Overall Champions. 

SCHS swept the awards ceremony with 12 state champions, seven national recognition recipients, and the JKG Teacher of the Year. Starting off the ceremonies were guest speaker Kentucky Commissioner of Education Gene Wilhoit and JAG National Public Speaking Champ, JKG State Vice President and SCHS Chapter President Elizabeth Fletcher who presented her award-winning speech. 

SCHS's 12 state champions are:  Public Speaking - Elizabeth Fletcher; Decision Making - spokesperson Kristi Bowen, Levi Lowe, Joseph Harris & Tabitha Parsons; Telephone Techniques - Dovie Jude; Employment Interview - Jessica Jude; Essay - Joseph Harris; Carpet Maze - Cole Rader, Beth Bowen, Travis Carter and Jonathan Spence.  Placing were Employment Application - third, Shaunda Crum and 5th-Joseph Harris; T-Shirt Design -third, Elizabeth Fletcher;

Service Learning - fourth, SCHS Chapter, Christmas Giving Tree Project; Scrapbook -sixth, Historians Dovie Jude, Jessica Jude, Wendy Moore & Committee Elizabeth Fletcher, Amanda Cordle, and Katie Jude; Bulletin Board - sixth, Kristi Bowen and Lora Horn; 3-D Poster - third and seventh, Tabitha Parsons, Danny Parsons, Beth Bowen and Levi Lowe;

Traditional Poster - third, Devan Parsons; Promotional Video - fourth, Elizabeth Fletcher, Dovie Jude, Jessie Jude, Beth Bowen, Levi Lowe, Kathy Stacy, Pricie Bowen, Shaunda Crum, Kristi Bowen, Cole Rader, Devan Parsons; Powerpoint Presentation - seventh, Beth Bowen, Elizabeth Fletcher, Levi Lowe; Marketplace Exhibit - third, SCHS Chapter. 

SCHS Program Specialist Marcie Hanson was, for the second consecutive year, awarded JKG Teacher of the Year. Elizabeth Fletcher, the 2003 JAG national public speaking champion and JKG State Vice President, received the State Officer Award and is Kentucky's very first JAG National Chairman's Award recipient. 

Six SCHS members received Jobs for America's Graduates Level 4 National Recognition - Beth Bowen, Levi Lowe, Jessica Jude, Dovie Jude, Kathy Fletcher Stacy, and Cole Rader. 

JKG wishes to thank SCHS Principal John A. Haney, Superintendent Bill Slone, Mrs. Pam Ward, Samantha Stacy, Cindy Fletcher, Community Education Director Paul Schmidt, Andrew Hanson and McGraw-Kokosing Construction, Mr. Shawn Hager, Dr. Michael Kessinger, Asst. Principal Sharon Kirk, Inez Deposit Bank and all of those who donated their effort and support to make 2003 JKG's very best year ever.
