Gullet to speak at MSU commencement

MOREHEAD — John Wathan Gullett II of Morehead, a biology major who will attend medical school in the fall, will be the student speaker for Morehead State University’s spring commencement on Saturday, May 10.

Nearly 900 graduate and undergraduate students are candidates for degrees to be conferred during the ceremony, which begins at 10:30 a.m. in the Academic-Athletic Center. Ruth Boggs Shannon of Whittier, Calif., a philanthropist and long time supporter of Morehead State, will receive an honorary Doctor of Public Service degree.

Gullett, the son of John and Sandra Gullett, will receive a Bachelor of Science degree. He has been accepted into the University of Louisville’s School of Medicine. To prepare for his career, he shadowed the emergency room physicians and pathologists at St. Claire Regional Medical Center.
