Sisters to graduate from MSU
LOUISA — Karen Hay and Marlena Scott of Louisa will graduate Saturday, May 10, from Morehead State University with their bachelor's degree in elementary education.

The girls are the granddaughters of Mae Kazee and the late Delbert Kazee, and the late Walker and Reba Scott, all of whom were long-time residents of Martin County. They are the daughters of James Willis and Carolyn Scott of Louisa.

Hay is married to Charles W. Hay, son of Edwin and Polly Hay. They have three children, Adam, Paul and Brookie. She says it has been a long, hard road trying to be a student, wife and mother at the same time.

Scott is single and lives at home with her parents. It has also been tough for her. She has had several health problems, including breast cancer. She has gone through surgery and six chemotherapy treatments and continued her education.

Both are student teaching with first grade at Louisa Elementary Lower.
