PAINTSVILLE — Three Paintsville Middle School students were winners in the Johnson County Health Department's Kick Butts Day poster contest.

Wayne Stambaugh, Darcy Jo Porter and Jessica Grim were school winners.

Stambaugh received a $25 check for county winner; Porter placed second in county competition and received a $15 prize.

Kick Butts Day is a nationwide campaign to make students aware of the dangerous consequences of smoking. According to Paintsville Independent's SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) sponsor, Carol Osborne Gullett, over one-third of the middle school students participated in this poster contest.
