McKenzie guest speaker at Dems meeting

The Lawrence County Democrat Womans Club met April 3 for its regular monthly meeting.

President Ramona Williams called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.

The pledge of allegiance to the flag was led by Kimberly Compton.

Secretary and treasurer reports were given and accepted.

Discussion was on the spring board held April 11 and 12, food wagon at the arts council festival to be held at the marina on June 21, and the annual picnic to be held June 14 at Yatesville Marina.

Vice President Patricia Sullivan introduced guest speaker Gail McKenzie, who gave an interesting talk on Fred Vinson. She told about his growing-up years in Louisa, her education and all the good things she did during his political life.

Ruby Holbrook and committee served refreshments.
