Tolsia names Mr. and Mrs. Rebel


William Boston, principal of Tolsia High School, announces the recipients of the 2003 Mr. and Miss Rebel Awards — Seth Caudill and Kristan Marcum.


Caudill is the son of James and Cindy Caudill of Fort Gay, W. Va. He has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout his high school tenure, and will graduate No. 1 in his class of 82.

He is a member of the National BETA Club, National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta. His accolades include Who's Who Among American High School Students, National Honor Roll, All American Scholar, National English Merit Award, and he was an Ambassador to West Virginia State Senate.

Caudill also served as co-captain of his basketball and baseball teams, as well as the Tolsia inaugural golf team. In addition, he is active in his community with Bartram Chapel Church and Youth Group.

In the fall, Caudill will attend West Virginia University, where he plans to pursue a doctor of pharmacy degree.

He is the grandson of the late Thomas Hatfield and Nell Dora Hatfield and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Caudill of Louisa.

Marcum is the daughter of Robert and Teresa Finley of Dunlow. She is active in the National Beta Club, National Honor Society, SADD Club, and is a member of the Tolsia Pride yearbook staff.

Marcum maintains a 3.56 GPA, is listed in Who's Who Among High School Students and serves as co-captain of the softball team. She has been actively involved throughout high school with Rebel cheerleading and was a member of the 1999 state championship team, as well as the 2002 state runner-up team.

Marcum plans to attend Marshall University and pursue a degree in physical therapy.

She is the granddaughter of Charley and Marybell Meddings of Dunlow, W.Va.
