LOUISA — The top graduates for the class of 2003 have been announced by Lawrence County High School.

Graduating with 4.0 grade point averages are:

— Emily Borders, the daughter of Ken and Tammy Borders. She has received a Regional Honors Scholarship to Morehead State University and will major in nursing.

— Vanessa Brown, the daughter of Rick and Teena Brown. She has received a Governor's Valedictorian Scholarship to Ashland Community College and will major in nursing.

— Stephanie Dunn, the daughter of Todd and Thersia Dunn. She has received a Regional Honors Scholarship to Morehead State University and will major in education.

— Katherine Hatten, the daughter of Dr. Tom and Carolyn Hatten. She has received an Academic Achievement Scholarship to Liberty University and will major in nursing.

— Alisha Hewlett, the daughter of Joe and Matilda Hewlett. She has received a Valedictorian Award and will attend the University of Kentucky.

Graduating Summa Cum Laude (with highest honors) are:

— Jessica George, the daughter of David and Donna George. She has received a tuition scholarship to Memphis State University.

— Scott Kimbler, the son of Ronald and Anna Pope, and William Kimbler. He will enlist in the U.S. Navy's nuclear program.

— Jessica Carter, the daughter of Arnold and Ruby Carter. She has received a Regional Honors Scholarship to Morehead State University.

— Erin Coldiron, the daughter of Charles and Debbie Coldiron. She will attend Eastern Kentucky University.

— Michelle McDaniel, the daughter of Robert and Angie McDaniel. She will attend Marshall University.

— Kyle Smith, the son of Dennis and Rita Smith. She will attend Alice Lloyd College on a Educational Opportunity Grant.

— Valerie Hodgkins, the daughter of Glenda Burton. She will attend Berea College.

— Amy Trautwein, daughter of Jack Trautwein and Beth Trautwein.

— Megan Haupert, the daughter of Patty Haupert and the late James Haupert. She will attend the University of Kentucky.

— Rene Mathieu, the daughter of Victor Mathieu and Carla Ellis. She will attend King's Daughters' Medical Center's radiology school.

— James K. Maynard, the son of James and Karen Maynard. He will attend the University of Kentucky as a Robinson Scholar.

— Shannon Thompson, the daughter of Russell and Lois Thompson. She will attend Pikeville College.

— Casey Howard, the son of Dan and Sherolyn Howard. He will attend Eastern Kentucky University on an athletic grant.

— Brandi Horn, the daughter of Don and Lisa Horn. She will attend Marshall University on a music performance grant.

— Alexi Trout, the son of Dr. Eugene and Violet Trout. He has received a Christian Leadership Scholarship and a Gidding Award and will attend Georgetown College.
