LOUISA — Three Rivers Medical Center conducted numerous activities for its National Hospital Week celebration this year.

In recognition of this year's celebration, event officials selected "Bringing the Power of Care to the Community" as this year's theme, said Chief Executive Officer Greg A. Kiser, MHA of Three Rivers Medical Center. Proclamations were obtained from Lawrence County Judge-Executive Phillip L. Carter and Louisa Mayor Teddy Preston proclaiming the week of May 11-17 as National Hospital Week in Lawrence County and Louisa.

The hospital recognized healthcare workers, volunteers and other health professionals with the facility by showing appreciation for their commitment of offering their services for the hospital. The hospital featured activities and promotional programs that demonstrated its appreciation to the employees, physicians, volunteers, and to the community as well.

During the week, Three Rivers Medical Center provided a community health fair with a variety of health screenings through the services of home care, mental health, and the Senior Circle at the Lawrence County Senior Citizen Center. The Mental Health Department, Transitions, provided complimentary stress management programs with presenter Karin Frasher, certified activities director; free mental health screenings; and an informational display of facts about mental health. An employee/staff appreciation day was held that featured free lab work, a special meal and gifts with the opportunity to win door prizes sponsored by the hospital and physical therapy.
