Hatfield places first in competition
LOUISA Sarah Elizabeth Hatfield has been notified that she placed first in the 2003 Junior American Citizens National Contest in the community service category.

The Junior American Citizens is a national organization sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The purpose of the program is to promote citizenship, patriotism, service, and civic responsibility.

Hatfield is the daughter of Dennis R. and Patricia Hatfield of Louisa. She is an honor student who is active in the Lawrence County High School marching band, advance choir and church youth group. In addition, Hatfield was the recipient of the Kentucky PEPP Scholarship, alternate for the Hoby Scholar program and also alternate for the Rogers Scholar program.

Her future plans include attending a Christian college and majoring in a health field.
