Water line break

(click for larger version)
A TWO-INCH BYPASS meter failed and the top of the meter was blown off by what has been called a surge in the area of Ky. 40 and Ky. 1884 intersection. The incident caused the Tomahawk section of Martin County to be under a boil water advisory. American Water Services employees were able to fix the break and restore water service within hours. Project manager Dave Cooley said such occurrences are "not uncommon." BSN photo/Cletus R. Turner
