Despite chilly temperatures and loads of rain, area pools are weathering the storm and opening anyhow.
Although attendance is down, there were still die-hard swimmers at the Louisa Swimming Pool on both Monday and Tuesday.
The Paintsville pool is expected to open Saturday with several improvements, including a new decal on the bottom of the pool.
The Louisa pool is open daily from noon to 6 p.m., but closes at 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Admission is $2.50, with children under 2 admitted free. Pool parties are $35 per hour, and can be scheduled by calling (606) 638-9038.
The swim team at Louisa will start practice on June 9 at 10 a.m. Cost is $25.
Swimming lessons begin June 16, and run Monday through Thursday from 11 to noon for two weeks. Cost is $40.
