OLW honored for employee satisfaction

MARTIN Our Lady of the Way Hospital recently won first place for overall employee satisfaction given by The Jackson Organization.

Our Lady of the Way Hospital was awarded this honor for its dedication to providing the highest standards in employee satisfaction, hospital officials said. To qualify for an award, a hospital must have been a patient satisfaction-tracking client of The Jackson Organization for all four quarters in 2002 or have completed an employee satisfaction, medical staff satisfaction study, or brand equity study in 2002.

Our Lady of the Way Hospital was chosen for receiving the highest ratings in employee satisfaction from among The Jackson Organization clients as well as exceeding industry standards, officials said.

"I am very pleased, but not surprised," president and CEO Kathy Stumbo said. "Our turnover rate is 13 percent compared to the national average of 20 percent We have a wonderful hospital and the best healthcare employees. We treat each other like family."

Founded in1997, The Jackson Organization is a full-service healthcare market research company whose mission is to make the discoveries that lead to total quality care and competitive advantage.

Our Lady of the Way Hospital is a not-for-profit facility and a member of Catholic Health Initiatives headquartered in Denver, Colo. In addition to the hospital, Our Lady of the Way operates six rural health clinics.
