Ryan Brown to compete in Ky./Tenn. All-Star game
Kevin Conley
PAINTSVILLE One of the most dominate football players in the mountains during the past few seasons has been named to the Kentucky All-Star Team.

Ryan Brown, a senior last season at Paintsville High School, was named to the squad that will square off against an all-star team from Tennessee in the annual Kentucky/Tennessee All-Star Game.

The game is scheduled for Friday evening at 6 p.m. at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington and features the cream of the 2003 high school crop. Michael Bush, a University of Louisville signee, heads the Kentucky field along with Breathitt County's Justin Haddix.

Brown is an all-state honorable mention, all-region first team and all-mountain first-team defense for 2002.

The 265-pound senior recorded 182 tackles and 34 sacks for Paintsville last season. Brown runs the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds and received a composite score of 28 on the ACT college entrance exam.

He signed to play football for James Madison University, where he will attend as a freshman this fall.
