Single-car mishap leaves two hurt
LOUISA — A one-vehicle mishap left two Louisa men injured Thursday afternoon.

According to Lawrence County deputy Rick May, Kevin McCoy, 19, of Louisa was driving a state truck hauling two riding lawnmowers on a trailer when the weight of the trailer seemed to "push them" into a ditch near the Pleasant Ridge Campground.

"The vehicle traveled the ditch for approximately 150 feet before striking a utility pole, causing it to break in half," May said. "The truck then traveled about another 100 feet before it came to a rest."

Both McCoy and passenger Nathan Carter, 20, also of Louisa, were transported to Three Rivers Medical Center, where they were still being treated for injuries.
