LOUISA — A Salyersville man was arrested Wednesday on an indictment for his involvement with a New Year’s Day crash in Lawrence County that killed Jessica Marie Eborg of Parkersburg, Ohio.
Joshua Morris, 23, lost control of the 1999 Daewoo he was driving in the southbound lane of U.S. 23 near the Kentucky Power Plant, causing it to leave the road, cross the median, and strike the guardrail, authorities said. The vehicle rested on its top.
Morris was allegedly intoxicated and was arrested on a DUI charge. He was indicted on reckless homicide and DUI charges.
Eborg, a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
Three other passengers in the car were injured and transported to Three Rivers Medical Center, where they were treated and released.
Morris is lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, according to Sheriff Garrett Roberts.
