Man who hid jail walkaway facing charges in Floyd Co.
by Susan Allen

PRESTONSBURG — A Prestonsburg man is accused of hiding a Floyd County inmate who walked off from a work program in April 2002.

Clint A. Thompson, 23, of Cliffside Apartments, is charged with second-degree hindering prosecution for allegedly hiding Scottie Bradley, who left a jail work crew in Arkansas Creek in Martin.

Bradley escaped from the work crew and at one point ended up at the home of a federal prison guard near Arkansas Creek.

Prison guard Stan Lee said Bradley entered his home and asked for something to drink, but Lee became suspicious and backed Bradley out of his home, where the inmate fled into the hills.

Bradley was on the lam for two days and was later arrested in Martin by a city police officer. Bradley was later indicted on the escape charge.

Thompson was arrested June 17 at his apartment and later released on a surety bond.

A trial date has been set for Sept. 27 in Floyd District Court.
