LOUISA The public is invited to tour the expanded and renovated emergency department of Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa on Friday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"It's cause for celebration," said Greg Kiser, MHA, chief executive officer of TRMC. "Due to this expansion project, we have decreased the waiting time for our ED patients and their families while providing them with the highest quality of care."

According to Kiser, 5,000 square feet of space has been added along with four additional exam rooms, a new ambulance entrance, an EMS work room, decontamination shower, registration area, triage room, observation room and an expanded waiting area.

ED nursing director Dian Ratliff, MSN, said the "featured attraction is our state-of-the-art centralized work station for physicians, nursing staff and EMS personnel."

Local, regional and state dignitaries will participate in a ribbon ceremony along with hospital management and representatives of Community Health Systems, the parent company of TRMC.
