Almodovar promoted to master sergeant

Julie Blake Almodovar, a 1986 graduate of Lawrence County High School, was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant (US Army) on April 1.

She is currently stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, and serves with the 25th Infantry (L) Division as a senior medical operations NCO.

She has been married to SFC Francisco J. Almodovar for 15 years. He is also a soldier in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii. They have one daughter, April Dawn.

Julie Almodovar is the daughter of Charline Blake of Louisa and the late Charles Blake of Creston, Ohio, and the late Wayne and Willa Bell Rittenberry of Louisa and the late Jink and Emma Blake. She is the niece of Julia Smith, Nannie York, Reatha McKenzie, Bernice Dials and Russell McKenzie, all from Lawrence County.
