LOUISA — The Lawrence County Septemberfest Board will meet Thursday, Aug. 14, and Thursday, Aug. 28, at Three Rivers Medical Center, Louisa, at 7 p.m. All board members are urged to attend.

Applications for arts and crafts spaces at the Lawrence County Septemberfest are being accepted. Spaces are 10 X 10 at a fee of $25 per space, per day. Some of the tentative features at this years’ festival include painted woodcrafts, ceramics, hand-poured candles, crocheted items, hand-stitched clothing and many other items. Applications may be requested by calling arts and crafts chairman, Leslie Wellman, at (606) 673-4681 after 6 p.m. or by writing Lawrence County Septemberfest at P.O. Box 808, Louisa, KY 41230. Deadline for returned applications is Friday, Aug. 29.

The Lawrence County Septemberfest Car Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 6, at Louisa Lower Elementary School, across from Heston Funeral Home. Registration will be from 9 a.m. to noon. Dash plaques will be awarded to the first 100 entries. Awards for the top 50 and special awards for the best Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, etc., will also be given. The entry fee is $10. Lawrence County Septemberfest caps and T-shirts are now available for sale. Shirts are burgundy with beige embroidery, come in sizes small to 3X and cost $11. Caps are burgundy with beige and come in one size fits all for $8 each. Sweatshirts come in sizes medium to 3X and cost $16 each. Childrens’ shirts are sizes 2, 4, 6 - 8, and 10 - 12, and are $8 each. Orders may be placed by calling (606) 673-3387 or (606) 686-2744 after 5 p.m. Shirts will be available for sale at the following locations beginning Friday, Aug. 15: Barbara’s Beauty Haven, Lawrence County Public Library, Hi Rollers Beauty Salon, Peoples Security Bank and The Whistle Stop Cafe.
