Silver mine focus of historical meeting
INEZ The Martin County Historical Society's regular monthly meeting will be held Thursday, Sept. 4, at 6:30 p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Inez.

Speakers will be William "Bill" Gibson and Tim Belcher. Their subject will be the legendary John Swift Silver Mine located in Eastern Kentucky. These men are historians, explorers, and treasure hunters. Maps, Swift's journal, and silver coins found in the great cave of the Shawnee will be on display.

The meeting is open to the public.
