Flu shots available at LC Health Department

The Lawrence County Health Department will offer influenza (flu) shots Nov. 4-5. The fee is $15 and there is no fee for those with Medicare Part B or Medicaid.

An annual flu shot is provided for:

People 50 years or older.

Residents of long-term care facilities housing persons with chronic medical conditions.

People who have long-term health problems with: heart disease, kidney disease, lung disease metabolic disease, diabetes, asthma, anemia; and other blood disorders.

People with a weakened immune system due to HIV/AIDS or another disease that affects the immune system, long-term treatment with drugs such as steroids, cancer treatment with x-rays or drugs.

The health department hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No appointments are needed for flu shots. You may contact the health department at 1-606- 638-4389 for additional information.
