CAP election set for Oct. 27

PAINTSVILLE — The bylaws of the Big Sandy Area Community Action Program, Inc., require that an election be held each year to appoint low-income representatives to serve on the agency’s board of Directors.

The elections are held in each of the five counties served by Big Sandy Area CAP, Inc. To be eligible to nominate candidates and to vote in this election, you must meet the 100 percent poverty income guidelines. The representatives do not necessarily have to be low-income residents themselves, but will serve as a voice for the low-income residents in their county.

Johnson County’s low-income representative election will be held Monday, Oct. 27, at the Paintsville Recreation Center.

All low-income residents of Johnson County are encouraged to attend.
