Heritage Day planned at Oil Springs

OIL SPRINGS Heritage Day will be held at the Oil Springs School Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn about the history of the area and join in celebrating the past.

Featured artists and events include Debra Burchett, Murals, The Medina

Gardens; Alice Hill, Porcelain Doll making; Kay Hughes, Textiles of our past, Spinning and Weaving; Arthur Castle, Toys of Our Past; Robin Blanton, Wood Carving; Catherine Wells, Chair Caning, Basketry; Esta Johnson, Dried Apple Dolls and more; Maxine Eldridge, Heritage Foods; Michael Samuel, Native American Music; Dave Jackson, Wildlife Exhibit; Greg Howard, Muzzle Loading, Powder Horn and Knife Making; Lewis and Clark Expedition Program; and many more.

Historic sites will be available at discount prices (most are $1). Some walking tours are free. Call for more information. Admission is $1 for school children and $5 for adults. Recommended time for adults is 2-4 p.m. There is no charge to teachers. Pre-registration is required. Contact 789-8108 to register or for more information.
