Scholarship applications available

LOUISA ó Applications for the Lawrence County Conservation Districtís Mary Chandler Memorial Scholarship are now available from the district office.

One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be enrolling in one of the following fields of study: natural resources conservation, forestry, soil science, ecology, wildlife science, agriculture, science or biology.

Students who are Lawrence County residents and are enrolled in a college or university in Kentucky are eligible to apply. Applications must be returned to the district office by Feb. 6, 2004. The winning recipient will be notified by Feb. 27, 2004.

The Lawrence County Conservation District Board of Supervisors offers this scholarship in honor of the late Mary Chandler, who spent her life promoting education and conservation and the wise use of our natural resources.
