Heritage Day Oct. 22 at Oil Springs
OIL SPRINGS Heritage Day will be held at the Oil Springs School Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Featured artists and events include Debra Burchett, murals, The Medina Gardens; Alice Hill, porcelain doll making; Kay Hughes, textiles of the past, spinning and weaving; Arthur Castle, toys of the past; Robin Blanton, wood carving; Catherine Wells, chair caning, basketry; Esta Johnson, dried apple dolls and more; Maxine Eldridge, heritage foods; Michael Samuel, Native American music; Dave Jackson, wildlife exhibit; Greg Howard, muzzle loading, powder horn and knife making; Lewis and Clark expedition program; and more.

Historic sites will be available at discount prices (most are $1). Some walking tours are free. Call for more information. Admission is $1 for school children and $5 for adults. Recommended time for adults is 2-4 p.m. There is no charge to teachers. Pre-registration is required.
