LEXINGTON — Transylvania University has a record enrollment of 1,134 students this year. The former record, set last year, was 1,109.
Enrollment has increased steadily at Transylvania since 1994-95, when it stood at 871. President Charles L. Shearer said he expects enrollment to level off at or slightly below the current level.
Two residents from Lawrence County are a part of Transylvania's record-breaking student body. They are freshmen Daniel Blevins, son of Henry and Lorie Blevins of Webbville; and junior Nathan Parsons, a political science major, the son of Steven and Amy Parsons of Louisa.
