PAINTSVILLE Elizabeth Dawn Cecil and John David Herald were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. on July 12 at First United Methodist Church in Paintsville by Rev. Jim Doughton.

Elizabeth Herald is the daughter of Donald and Connie Cecil of Royalton. She is the granddaughter of Ernestine Owens and the late Cammie Owens of Salyersville and Edith Cecil and the late Frank Cecil of Royalton.

John David Herald is the son of John and Jane Herald of Hager Hill. He is the grandson of the late David and Beatrice Bickford of Auxier and the late Arnold and Phyllis Herald of Prestonsburg.

Nuptial music was provided by Lorin Franklin and Dennis Prater, vocalists, and Paulette Prater, pianist.

Hester Adams of Salyersville was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Beal, Ashley Patrick, Shannon Gay and Dr. Jennifer Seow, sister of the groom. Michelle Roe was the greeter.

Bryan Penix of Lexington was the best man. Groomsmen were Gary Michael Roe, John Oldham, Rob Lewis and Eric Roberts. Ushers were Tommy Trimble and Dr. Albert Seow, brother-in-law of the groom.

A dinner-dance reception followed at the Ramada Inn in Paintsville.

The bride is a graduate of Magoffin County High School and the University of Kentucky, majoring in interior design. She is employed as an event planner/manager for Chrisman Mills.

The groom is a graduate of Paintsville High School and Centre College, majoring in economics. He is a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He is currently employed as an investment banker with Fifth Third Bank in Lexington.

Following a wedding cruise of the southern Caribbean, the couple will reside in Lexington.
