Ramada to host arts council workshops
PAINTSVILLE On Wednesday, Dec. 17, Judy Sizemore, circuit rider for the Kentucky Arts Council, will lead workshops at the Ramada Inn in Paintsville on programs offered by The Kentucky Arts Council.

Advance registration is requested as soon as possible.

The morning session, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., will focus on the Community Arts Development (CAD) and General Operating Support 1 (GOS 1 is for organizations with a budget under $50,000) grants. This is required for new CAD applicants and for groups who are returning to the CAD program after a break. It is recommended for groups who are already in the CAD or who plan to apply for the GOS 1 program.

The afternoon session, 1 to 4 p.m., will focus on the new grant Arts Build Communities. This grant provides up to $5,000 matching funds for projects undertaken as a partnership between individual artists and non-profit organizations (arts or non-arts organizations), so will be of interest to any individual artist as well as representatives of non-profit organizations including libraries, extension agencies, social agencies, youth programs, tourism commissions, Main Street Programs, etc.

Schools can be partners in these projects but they cannot be the lead applicants.

To register for either or both sessions, send your complete contact information to Sizemore at 217 Black Lick Road, McKee, KY 40447, 606-364-5831. Include your name, address, email, organization and/or art form (if applicable); and phone number (for rescheduling in case of inclement weather.)
