Lawrence students may apply for Chandler scholarship

LOUISA ó Attention high school seniors: Applications for the Lawrence County Conservation Districtís Mary Chandler Memorial Scholarship are now available from the district office.

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be enrolling in one of the following fields of study: natural resources conservation, forestry, soil science, ecology, wildlife science, agriculture, science or biology. Students who are Lawrence County residents and are enrolled in a Kentucky college or university are eligible to apply. Applications must be returned lo the district office by Feb. 6, 2004. The winning recipient will be notified by Feb. 27, 2004.

The Lawrence County Conservation District Board of Supervisors offers this scholarship in honor of the late Chandler, who spent her life promoting education and conservation and the wise use of our natural resources.
