KCTCS honors benefactors

KCTCS AND COLLEGES recently honored benefactors Rodney and Sharon Handshoe of Paintsville.
PRESTONSBURG The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and its colleges recently honored some of their benefactors.

Michael B. McCall, president of KCTCS, presented awards in November to 39 of the system's major donors and volunteers at the 2003 President's Gala and Benefactors Awards Dinner.

Dr. Rodney and Sharon Handshoe of Paintsville arrived on the campus of Prestonsburg Community College in 1971 and immediately became active during their years as students.

Dr. Handshoe has a busy cardiology practice and is a member of the board of directors of Highlands Regional Medical Center. He is also a longtime member of the board of the Big Sandy Community and Technical College and the Big Sandy College Educational Foundation, Inc.

Sharon Handshoe operates a cardiac ultrasound service in addition to fulfilling her responsibilities as a mother of three sons. She is active in her church and in organizations such as the Jenny Wiley Theatre.
