State-of-the-art equipment installed

HOSPITAL GETS NEW EQUIPMENT: Urologist William C. Thorndyke, M,D., and operating room technicians Virgil Nichols and Jessica Fugitt, of Three Rivers Medical Center are pictured showcasing the state-of-the-art equipment in the surgery department.
LOUISA A new OEC urology table with exceptional X-ray enhancements has recently been purchased and installed for use within the urology room of the surgery department with Three Rivers Medical Center, said chief executive officer Gregory A. Kiser, MHA.

The new and modern state-of-the-art urology table has the capabilities to screen the patient in displaying both the fluro image and the video image of the patient's specimen. The table functions by the physician utilizing his hands and/or feet to achieve maximum image results for more precise urological procedures.

Director of Surgery Services Barbara Robinson, RN, CNOR, praised this technological advancement to the Surgery Department. She expressed that the table with its devices and equipment permits a decreased amount of anesthesia time and total procedure time with urological procedures.

Through this new technology and the expertise of qualified staff, Three Rivers Medical Center is more equipped and is better enabled to serve the healthcare needs of patients, she said.
