For those who want to shape up and exercise in a controlled environment with experienced people to assist you, aerobics classes and yoga classes are available or a membership can be purchased for the fitness center.

Aerobics classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m. and Saturdays at noon. Yoga classes are held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. There is also a walking track on the third floor overlooking the gymnasium.

Daycare will soon be available at the center and gymnastics are available at 10 a.m. on Wednesdays.

On the first floor, the public can enjoy first-run movies and a great concession area that doesn’t mind using a little extra butter for the popcorn. Each of the four movie theaters offers the newest movies with digital dolby surround sound and comfortable, high back chairs with cupholders.

THE FUN ZONE is a favorite with younger children at the Roy F. Collier Community Center. BSN photo/Lilly Adkins (click for larger version)
For the folks with younger children, there is an indoor play area called the Fun Zone and just across the hall is an arcade that has a wide variety of games, suitable for young and old.

Another area near the entrance of the facility offers the visitor the opportunity to purchase crafts made by local folks with talent.

Along the sidewalk, some of the bricks have names of people and businesses who have supported the center. Take the time to read some of the names to see if you recognize any of them.
