Tourism tidbits
by Nancy Price | Paintsville/Johnson Co. Tourism Gen. Mgr.

Hello, everyone. My name is Nancy Price, and as many of you already know, I was recently hired as the Paintsville/ Johnson County tourism general manager.

You may be wondering what kind of "tourism tidbits" could be happening in mid-January since the weather is cold and our lovely mountains are still in the midst of winter's sleep. However, if you look out your window on a clear day as the blue sky and the bright sunshine adorn the mountaintops, you can almost feel spring call to you. This call is what I would like to talk with you about today.

I know that my job will not be an easy one. I also know that any job worth doing is worth doing well and that it is much more difficult if you try to do it alone. Our staff here at the tourism office has many ideas on how to make our area a more visible and active place to visit. The ideas and goals we have can only evolve with the help and cooperation of all Paintsville and Johnson County residents.

With this thought in mind, I want to ask you for your help. If you are a crafter and wish to share your talent, please give us a call. If you are a business owner and you wish to involve your employees in the community activities or if you are a community member and would like to volunteer your services, please give us a call.

My goal is for the Paintsville/Johnson County tourism office to be a link for all community organizations. A link that brings us together to answer the call and continue to make Paintsville and Johnson County the place that tourists can enjoy as well as a place that all Johnson Countians can enjoy and be a part of.

We look forward to hearing from you. Please call our office at your convenience and share with us your thoughts and ideas about what you can do to be a part of our involvement team. The number is 606-297-1469.
