New Year's Babies

01/09/2008 - HIGHLANDS REGIONAL MEDICAL Center welcomed its first baby of 2008. Travis Blake Mollette arrived Jan. 1 at 12:59 a.m. He weighed 8 pounds and 4 ounces, and was 18.75 inches long. His parents are Brandy Fannin and Mark Mollette of Inez. The parents received a Highlands diaper bag filled with baby clothing, stuffed animals and many other gift items given from Highlands. The family will also receive a $500 Savings Bond from Highlands Regional Medical Center.

BRAYLEE FAITH TRIPLETT, born Jan. 2 at 6:25 p.m. was the first baby born at Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa for 2008. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces, and was 20 inches long. She is the daughter of Brad and Laura Triplett, who reside in the Louisa area. Braylee and her mother were presented the following gifts: a baby bib, socks, diapers for one year and a case of baby formula.

KYRA HOPE SPENCE, daughter of Rhea Cassady and Kyle Spence of Lawrence County, was the first baby of 2008 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville. She was born Jan. 2 at 7:14 p.m. and weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces. As the first newborn of the year, she received a basket full of gifts provided by the hospital and a host of local merchants. Included among the gifts: a $50.00 savings bond; a $25 gift card from Wal-Mart; a car seat, diaper bag and baby blankets from Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center (gifts given year-round to all new-borns at the hospital); stuffed animal and bibs from Paintsville Floral; free setting fee from John Michael, photographer; stuffed toy and book from Amy's Hallmark; baby blanket and bib from Dawahare's; Precious Moments Bible from Master's Miracle Christian Bookstore; shampoo, soap, powder and other baby necessities from Med Zone Pharmacy; and baby clothes, blanket, diapers, bottle and other items from the Johnson County Health Department. Other items in the basket included baby wipes, baby bath, baby lotion, bottles, baby clothes, bibs, socks, wash cloths, spoons and much more. Kyra's maternal grandparents are Billy and Jennifer Cassady, and her paternal grandparents are Chester and Sabrina Spence.
