The United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church, 202 West Main St. Louisa, (Across from Young Funeral Home) will have a cheesy potato soup sale Friday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. A quart of homemade cheesy potato soup is $6 and may be picked up at the church between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. For those who wish to eat in from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. a cheesy potato soup luncheon is provided in the fellowship hall of the church for $5, soup, sandwich, dessert and drink. Carryout available, drink not included. Orders need to be placed by Wednesday evening, Jan. 30, to Ginny Thompson at (606) 638-4120 or by calling the church at (606) 638-4435.
Jackson Chapel #2
Jackson Chapel #2, Louisa, will hold services Sundays in February at 2 p.m. at the Lawrence County Housing Authority Community Building, Louisa. Special singing. Gospel Outreach Ministry
A soup bean dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 9, from 12 - 3 p.m. at Ray Williams Villa Community Room. Each dinner includes soup beans, sauerkraut, cornbread, dessert and a drink for $5. Providence will be singing Sunday, Feb. 3, at Louisa Church of God, on the Point Section, Louisa. Members of the group include Johnny Gowan, Johnny Branham, Gary Fitzpatrick, and Jackie Priode. Pastor Paul Stepp invites everyone to attend all services.

First United Methodist Church, located on the corner of Church Street and Main Street, Paintsville, will be serving spaghetti lunch Friday, Feb. 1, between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The lunch will include spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a drink. Carry-out orders and limited delivery service will be available. Proceeds will benefit the new contemporary service being held Sunday evening at 6 p.m. in the First United Methodist Life Center.
