Three selected to perform with All-State Choir

02/06/2008 - PAINTSIVLLE — Three students from JCHS have received the highest honor of a Kentucky high school choir member.

Kristina Pescosolido, Ashley Hall, and Chris Castle were selected to perform with the All-State Choirs in Louisville

In order to perform in the all-state choirs, students must be a member of their high school chorus and audition in the fall semester. The students are judged on a prepared a cappella piece and an eight-measure sight-reading piece. The required piece for the 2007-2008 auditions was "My Heart Is Offered Still to You" by Orlando Lassus.

Pescosolido, a senior, is the daughter of Steve and Karen Pescosolido of Prestonsburg. She received a score of 99.9. She will be performing with the SSAA chorus.

Hall, a junior, is the daughter of Chris and Terina Hall of Hager Hill. She received a score of 96 and will also be performing with the SSAA chorus.

Castle, a sophomore, is the son of Ron and Patty Castle of West Van Lear. He received a score of 92. He will be performing with the TTBB chorus.

These students will be attending rehearsals in Louisville Feb. 6-8. The concert will be held in Louisville at the Kentucky Center in Whitney Hall. The concert will begin at 8:15 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8. To order tickets, call 800-775-7777 or visit the Web site at
