LC DECA Chapter to compete on state level
02/20/2008 - LOUISA — The Lawrence County High School DECA Chapter competed at Region 5 competition at the University of Kentucky on Feb. 6, with 17 members participating.
The following awards were issued: Kevin Scaggs, 5th place, Kentucky sports and entertainment marketing; Jessica Glenn and Nashala Kimble, 4th place, travel and tourism marketing management team decision making; Morgan Young, 2nd place, DECA creed; Kayla Marcum and Marcy Scarberry, 2nd place, hospitality marketing management team decision making; William Meade, 2nd place, automotive services marketing; Aaron Bartram and Todd Raines, 2nd place, travel and tourism marketing management team decision making; Donald Osborne, 1st place, automotive services marketing; Curtis Waybright and Ashley Hall, buying and merchandising marketing management team decision making; Michelle Peck, 1st place, business services marketing; Amanda Rowe, 1st place, apparel and accessories marketing; Joshua McCoy, 1st place, quick service restaurant marketing; and Savannah Mullins and Evett Wilks, 1st place, sports and entertainment marketing management team decision making.
Romana Short was also awarded the Regional Teacher of the Year and the Lawrence County Chapter was awarded the third-largest Chapter Award.
All of these students will compete at the Kentucky DECA Career Development Conference in Louisville March 3-4.
